Start your journey to a deeper bond with your horse in a personalized one-on-one masterclass with Pete Lichau. You’ll experience a modern approach to classical horsemanship that puts the horse’s perspective first and teaches you how to work with a horse, not just on a horse.
Pete’s approach is deeply rooted in the history of horsemanship, blended with the science of horse neuroendocrinology, which is how sensory experiences of the environment trigger chemical responses in the brain that impact hormones and behavior. During the masterclass, Pete will use this perspective to help uncover any emotional causes of friction points, physical behaviors, or unwanted situations you’ve been experiencing with your horse. Then he’ll help you understand how you can work together with your horse to reduce stress, relieve tension, and build trust through a horse-centered approach.
Every masterclass is personalized and tailored to your needs. All riding styles and disciplines are welcome. The format will generally consist of a mix of lecture-style learning, ride time with you on your horse, demos with other horses, and ride time with Pete on your horse. Sessions will last for about 4 hours with a mix of activities for you and ample breaks for your horse. You can attend one masterclass, or book additional sessions depending on your needs. Virtual follow-up lessons using recordings of your rides are also available upon request.
Masterclass Fee: $900 per session

When you take lessons at Rose Gate Farm, you will develop horsemanship skills and knowledge that can be applied to all disciplines of riding. Pete works with riders who want to build a more meaningful connection with their horse by transitioning from a human-centered approach to a horse-centered approach. Programs are personalized to meet the goals of each individual student, and students will have the opportunity to learn about horse care, ground work, and riding. Lessons are available in both English and Western.
You do not need to have a horse to take lessons. Rose Gate Farm has a variety of horses to meet the needs of our students. If you have a horse or are interested in purchasing a horse, Pete also offers personalized training programs for a few select clients at a time.
